about me

I am a master’s-educated practitioner, with a focus on relationships and a specialization in ethical non-monogamy and other queer and non-traditional lifestyles. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara and earned my master’s degree in Holistic Counseling Psychology at John F. Kennedy University.

I have been working as an independent mental health practitioner for over five years and have been involved in several communities advocating for the acceptance and normalization of gender, sexuality, and relational identification variances for over fifteen years. As a Co-Lead for the American Psychological Association's Division 44 Committee on Consensual Non-monogamy, I am working to improve ease of access for clients seeking healthcare providers qualified to work with non-traditional partnerships.

I have elected to remain unlicensed so that I can cultivate a hybrid practice that includes components of coaching and mindfulness. This choice provides me the opportunity to work within my communities and see my clients in their homes and by video conferencing. My approach reflects the unique needs of each individual, relationship, and scenario. I am bound by the strictest standards of ethics and integrity.

Location & Travel

Wherever you may be located, I can reach you through video conferencing (Zoom, Google Hangouts, and others). I take pride in being able to provide safe, convenient access to my clients, especially those who have struggled to find a therapist competently prepared to work with their alternative relationship structures and lifestyles.

If you reside within the San Francisco Bay Area, I am available to come to your home, office, or other safe and comfortable space of your choosing for sessions. Allow me to take on the travel challenges and eliminate this hurdle between you and the assistance you deserve. Contact me to find out if you are located within my travel radius.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, I have expanded my availability for remote sessions. All home visits and in-person sessions will be discontinued until further notice.

Pricing & Fees

It is important to me that people have access to a provider with open minded perspectives on relationship design. I do not accept insurance, therefore, I operate with flexibility around pricing and a sliding scale for those who demonstrate a financial need.

The agreed upon fee is due in full at the beginning of the session. All cancellations must be confirmed. Cancellations occurring within 24 hours of the appointment start time are subject to a fee equivalent to half of the agreed upon cost of that session. Cancellations made within 2 hours of our session will be charged the full session amount. I accept cash, checks (from established clients), and online payments (PayPal/Venmo/SquareCash).

Consultations

When you contact me, I will typically respond within one week. We will negotiate a convenient time for a phone call or video chat lasting up to 20 minutes. During this brief session, I would like to hear about what is inspiring you to seek counseling at this time. I encourage you to ask me any questions that will help you decide if we are an good fit to work together. It is my hope that you will connect with the most appropriate practitioner for your goals and temperament.

I look forward to meeting with you!
